A small group of 20 brethren gathered at the Bel Arco Resort in Bull Shoals, Arkansas for the Feast of Tabernacles this year. Ages ranged from 6 to 76.
Besides a nice meeting hall for daily services we also enjoyed a separate Hospitality Room. It was like a big family room complete with a sectional, which came to be a favorite gathering spot for feasting and fellowshipping. The refrigerator and pantry were stocked full of fresh fruit, wholesome snacks, sandwich fixin's and drinks provided by festival offerings along with a variety of homemade goodies provided by the brethren. We gathered there for lunch and again in the evenings for board games, movies, homemade ice cream and pizza, Bible Bowls and lots of fellowship.
We enjoyed inspiring sermons throughout the Feast from Wayne and Tim. Even though this consumed much of their time they still took the time to get beat up playing Basketball and/or Volleyball, which is what we did with most of our afternoons. Nearly everyone suffered a few minor wounds during the afternoon games, but still voted to cancel scheduled activities in order to play just one more game. A quick lunch followed by outdoor sports quickly became a popular afternoon activity.
Other activities included, a bowling night, a campfire, a cookout and a trip to the Holy Land Tour in Eureka Springs. Everyone enjoyed the cookout so much we did it 2 more times. The younger folks also braved the cool weather and went boating and tubing on the lake one afternoon.
Everyone served by working together and contributing their time, gifts, abilities and offerings so we could all have a great feast. It was truly a feast of abundance in every way. Everyone said they really enjoyed it and wanted to do it again next year. Services were held in a large meeting hall that could have easily seated 100, so there's plenty of room for you to join us next year to worship God and serve each other at the Feast of Tabernacles 2007!
