Why do the Sabbatarian Church's of God depend on the medical profession?

Even though this society is sold on today's medical care, why does 99.9% of the Church of God today choose, just like the world does, to go to the medical profession, instead of trusting Almighty God for healing?

Is It Simply A Matter Of Choice?

Has God left it up to any of us to choose to go to a doctor when we are sick? Can we use God and the medical profession?

Should we get anointed and then go to a doctor if we are not healed? Can we just pray for God to "guide the doctors hands" and in that way "leave it in God's hands?" Is it better to get a doctor's diagnosis before anointing so the minister can know what to ask God to heal you of? Should we seek a diagnosis from a doctor to see if God healed us after we've been anointed?

It really is absurd to even consider these things! They are the thoughts of people that have no faith in God. Yet these are the people that will tell you, rather quickly, that they have "lots of faith."

Such rationale is rampant in the Church of God today! Where are the people like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,  that never doubted God for even a second! They placed their lives in God's hands and did not doubt God. They never considered forsaking God as the Church today has done!

They said in Daniel 3:16,  Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
17  If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
18  But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

The average church member would be scared to death to consider not having medical insurance or the "idea" that we should not go to a doctor. It is an EVIL THING in the Church of God that going to a doctor is not readily and openly condemned by every single church member.

Those in the Church that argue that we must have "balance" on this subject really do not want to trust God for their healing. They want the "right" to choose to go to the doctor.   They do not have any faith in God to do as He promised. They are calling God a LIAR! Remember the first one to do that? Satan the Devil of course! In the Garden of Eden he convinced Eve that God lied to them by saying "you shall not surely die!"

Remember also that God cut off the way to the Tree of Life after Adam and Eve decided they did not believe God or trust in Him. So we see the Church today again wholly accepting Satan's alternative and consequently being cut off from God and His Holy Spirit as well.  

Consider Ezekiel 33:30-33
30 ¶  Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.
31  And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
32  And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.
33  And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.

The world does not hate those that "do what they do." This society looks upon those that choose not to use the medical profession, with clear hatred and contempt. The world hated Jesus and the Apostles. They taught against the physicians of their day and instead believed in, and taught, and practiced healing.

Jesus gave this solemn warning to His disciples, just before His crucifixion:

John 15:19  If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Does the world hate God's Church today? NO! The Church behaves just like the world. Someone that works on the Sabbath or lives in sin or goes to see a doctor is openly accepted and embraced by most Sabbatarian Churches of God.  That is being just like the world!

Mark 9:14-29
14 ¶  And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them.
15  And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him.
16  And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them?
17  And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;
18  And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
19  He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
20  And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
21  And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
22  And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
23  Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24  And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
25  When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
26  And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.
27  But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.
28  And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?
29  And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

That's the real reason the Sabbatarian Church's of God depend on the medical profession! They are like the world and lack the faith to trust God! It takes prayer and fasting to learn how to trust God and come out of this world. Sadly most all in the Church of God are content to remain separate from God by continuing in their sin.

Jesus Christ healed the sick by forgiving their sins. Medical science would have treated this man with the latest technology and drugs but they would have been powerless to actually heal the man because they cannot forgive sin. Only God can do that!

Matt 9:2-8
2  And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
3  And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.
4  And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
5  For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
6  But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.
7  And he arose, and departed to his house.
8  But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

Another concept not understood by those that choose to go to the medical profession is that the demons cause sickness as well.

Matthew 12:22-28
22 ¶  Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
23  And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
24  But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
25  And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
26  And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
27  And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
28  But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

The Scriptures give us many examples of sickness and disease caused by Satan or demonic possession or influence.

Consider Job 2:1-7
 1  Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
2  And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
3  And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.
4  And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.
5  But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.
6  And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.
7  So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.

The truth is that every false way, sin, and sickness is caused by Satan and his demons!

Matthew 17:14-15, 18
14 ¶  And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,
15  Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, (seleniazo  4583) and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
18  And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

The word for lunatick in verse 15 strongly implies that the child had epilepsy.
EPILEPTIC
     seleniazo  4583, lit., "to be moon struck" (from selene, "the moon"), is used in the passive voice with active significance, RV, "epileptic," for KJV, "lunatick," <Matt. 4:24; 17:15>; the corresponding English word is "lunatic." Epilepsy was supposed to be influenced by the moon.

Matthew 4:23-24
23 ¶  And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
24  And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

Did Jesus hesitate to heal or rebuke a demon for someone? No! Why then would anyone turn to Satan for medical treatment? This world hates God in their heart and does not trust Him for healing. That is the answer almost no one is honest enough to look in their heart to see. What do you see in your heart? Mankind is afraid to trust in God. Satan has done his job very well. If you can still reason that God wants you to use the medical profession, then Satan has deceived your heart as well!

What Does Pharmakeia Mean?

Galatians 5:19-21
19  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21  Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Witchcraft from verse 20 is defined in Strong's # 5331 farmakeia pharmakeia far-mak-i'-ah

AV-sorcery 2, witchcraft 1; 3
1) the use or the administering of drugs
2) poisoning
3) sorcery, magical arts, often found in connection with idolatry and fostered by it
4) metaph. the deceptions and seductions of idolatry

The greek word pharmakeia is where we get our English word pharmacy. The 1st definition of pharmakeia is "the use or the administering of drugs." YET THE BIBLE SAYS THIS IS ONE OF THE WORKS OF THE FLESH! READ IT! VERSE 21 SAYS:
of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God!!

Satan's society is called Babylon.  The medical profession came out of Babylon. That Satanic system is so corrupt that Jesus Christ is going to destroy it at His return!

Read Revelation 18:1-5, 21-24
1 ¶  And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2  And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
3  For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
4  And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
5  For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. 21  And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
22  And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;
23  And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
24  And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
 
The word sorceries is the same word pharmakeia. God says that very system set up at Babylon has deceived the ALL NATIONS! Why do people today use the medical profession? BECAUSE THEY ARE DECEIVED!! God promises to destroy Babylon at the return of Jesus Christ. SHOULD WE HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT?

If, you have been called out of this world and have access to God and Jesus Christ, yet you choose to go along with the world to the pagan medical profession, then you are guilty of idolatry because you are asking them to do what only Almighty God can do!

The Apostle John said:

1John 2:15  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

John 17:14-21
14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15  I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
16  They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17 ¶  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
18  As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19  And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
20 ¶  Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21  That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

The bread we take at Passover is the body of Jesus Christ, broken for us to pay the penalty for physical sin.

Did Jesus suffer this terrible beating (remember Isa 52:14  As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:) for us to just reject it and choose to go to a doctor? Can you do that to Jesus Christ? Does His sacrifice not mean any more than that to you?
So, why doesn't God heal today?
Jesus Christ healed those brought to Him by casting out demons and forgiving sin.  He was always close to God and always did as His Father commanded. Jesus Christ was always blameless. It is mandatory for anyone that represents God, to be blameless.

1Timothy 3:2, 10
2    A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
10  And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

1Timothy 5:7  And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.

Titus 1:6-7
6  If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
7  For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

2Peter 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

God is not healing people in His Church today because they are not blameless! There are many reasons the Church is not clean spiritually:
1)        we do not examine ourselves before Passover, thus causing God to judge us and condemn us, and let us die in sin. 1Cor 11:20-32
2)        We don't Fast and Pray enough. Mark 9:14-29
3)        God said He would never put any diseases on us if we would be obedient to the covenant. We should never be sick. Since we are unclean, we have chosen to go to men to heal us when only God can.
4)        We don't understand the bread portion of Passover and as a result never go to God for healing.
We don't have any faith in God to do what He said. We simply do not trust God because we don't know God! These harsh words are necessary because we of all people SHOULD TRUST GOD!

He requires us to trust Him with our lives and the lives of our children. Do you think Abraham believes anything less?
