Should You Ever Go To A Doctor?
Part 2

Who Was Hippocrates And What is the Hippocratic Oath?

The practice of medicine is actually much older than Hippocrates. Medical practice predates the kingdoms of Greece, Mesopotamia, and Egypt. In fact, its origin can be traced all the way back to ancient Babylon.

What relevance does Hippocrates have to modern medicine? Why should we concern ourselves with him? Because Hippocrates was instrumental in leading the change in perceptions about the medical profession from a profession based in sorcery guided by pagan priests to a profession based on seemingly natural explanations for disease.

This quote was found at
http://www.indiana.edu/~ancmed/foundations.htm under the heading "Hippocratic Writings:" "Although Hippocrates of Cos (c.460-380 BCE) is considered to be the "Father of Medicine" little is known about him. It is generally accepted that he was roughly a contemporary of Socrates and was a practicing physician. It also seems likely that Hippocrates would have been an Asclepiad. The Asclepiads were members of a guild of physicians which traced its origins to Asclepius, the god of healing. Tradition also tells us that Hippocrates was the most famous physician and teacher of medicine of his time." (Emphasis mine)

Hippocrates is considered to be the Father of Medicine by the modern world because his efforts to "modernize" medicine have been used traditionally to separate today's orthodox medicine from its pagan roots.

The quote from "Hippocratic Writings" continues:

"Over 60 medical treatises that have traditionally been attributed to him. These treatises are collectively referred to as the Hippocratic Corpus. Most of these treatises, however, were not written by Hippocrates himself. In fact, several of the existent treatises were written well after the life of Hippocrates. The treatises themselves were written over about a two hundred year period and range in date from c.510-c.300 BCE, so clearly one man could not have authored all of them. Although it is likely that Hippocrates did compose some of the treatises, none of the 60 treatises can positively be attributed to Hippocrates. Therefore at times they contain conflicting materials and different ideas. In the main, however, they are similar in looking for natural explanations and treatments of illness and rejecting sorcery and magic." (Emphasis mine)

The old saying "you can't pick your parents" certainly applies here. Just because modern medicine wants to deny its roots in paganism does not mean that those roots do not exist. Modern medicine without its pagan roots would not exist today just as a building could not stand without a foundation.

In spite of these attempts to separate medical treatment from sorcery and paganism, there is no doubt where modern medicine came from.  Doctors today do not believe that Satan and his demons can cause sickness. Modern medicine does not even promote nutrition as being vital to good health.  Because of the efforts of Hippocrates and others, today's doctors are taught to believe that sickness and disease is to be treated by surgery, radiation, or drugs.

The Bible is the Word of God and it is the source of knowledge that man cannot discover for himself. It is the absolute authority on any subject it covers. Scripture tells us in
1Thessalonians 5:21-22 that we are to prove what is right and hold onto it by rejecting even the "appearance" of evil.

1Thessalonians 5:21-22
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22  Abstain from all appearance of evil.

The medical profession certainly is more than just an "appearance" of evil! It was designed by Satan the Devil to make people trust and and worship him, not God!

Will you prove to yourself the truth about the medical profession and abstain from its evil?

Please read what Jesus Christ said in Matthew 4:8-10 when Satan wanted Jesus to worship him!

Matthew 4:8-10
8  Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9  And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10  Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

What is the Hippocratic Oath?

The Hippocratic Oath is the oath that most doctors take upon graduation. Its purpose is for practitioners to pay homage to the "gods" that gave them this art. The reason that this "art" exists is because Satan wanted to give mankind an alternative to trusting God for complete healing.

This original version of the Hippocratic Oath is complete and shows its true origins. How can anyone that professes to serve God and Jesus Christ, go to a doctor that unapologetically serves Satan?
I SWEAR by Apollo the physician, Aesculapius, and Health, and All-heal, and all the gods and goddesses, that, according to my ability and judgement, I will keep this Oath and this stipulation. TO RECHON him who taught me this Art equally dear to me as my parents, to share my substance with him, and relieve his necessities if required; to look up his offspring in the same footing as my own brothers, and to teach them this art, if they shall wish to learn it, without fee or stipulation; and that by precept, lecture, and every other mode of instruction, I will impart a knowledge of the Art to my own sons, and those of my teachers, and to disciples bound by a stipulation and oath according the law of medicine, but to none others.  I WILL FOLLOW that system of regimen which, according to my ability and judgment, I consider for the benefit of my patients, and abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous. I will give no deadly medicine to any one if asked, nor suggest any such counsel; and in like manner I will not give a woman a pessary to produce abortion.  WITH PURITY AND WITH HOLINESS I will pass my life and practice my Art. I will not cut persons laboring under the stone, but will leave this to be done by men who are practitioners of this work. Into whatever houses I enter, I will go into them for the benefit of the sick, and will abstain from every voluntary act of mischief and corruption; and, further from the seduction of females or males, of freemen and slaves.  WHATEVER, IN CONNECTION with my professional practice or not, in connection with it, I see or hear, in the life of men, which ought not to be spoken of abroad, I will not divulge, as reckoning that all such should be kept secret.  WHILE I CONTINUE to keep this Oath unviolated, may it be granted to me to enjoy life and the practice of the art, respected by all men, in all times! But should I trespass and violate this Oath, may the reverse be my lot!
At the beginning of the book, The History of Medicine, is this admission, by C. G. Cumston,: "All the ancient writers have said again and again that medicine was the gift of the gods....", p. 9.

Another excellent source for information on the medical field is entitled "Origin of Medical Practice" written by Charles Sherwin McMichael. Here's a quote from this documented work: "Almost every nation of antiquity came to refer to the origin of medicine to the immediate instruction of the Gods." (If you would like a copy of The Origin of Medical Practice, please send an email to

The name Aesculapius, the Greek god of healing, means "man-instructing snake". He was always shown carrying a staff with one snake wrapped around it. Hermes was considered to be the messenger of the gods. The modern medical insignia, the caduceus, is the winged staff of Hermes made with two snakes wrapped around it.

Who was the original "man instructing snake"? It was Satan the Devil of course!
True Christians know that these gods are none other than Satan and his demons.

Deut. 32:16-18
16  They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.
17  They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.
18  Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.

It is clear that the ancient form of today's medical profession came out of Babylon. Satan created it as a means to make man worship him instead of God. Israel repeatedly forsook God and fell instep with the nations around them and worshiped their gods. Israel chose not to worship the God that made all mankind.

Are we like that? Is it easier to follow along with the world today and serve the same old tired gods that Israel chose to serve? There is no question that it is an easier path than the strait and narrow one Jesus Christ discussed in the Sermon on the Mount because all you have to do is what everyone else does! Yes, just like Israel did! It's easier to go to the doctor than trust God for healing because it requires no faith in God. But you won't be healed, you won't have God's protection, you won't have any relationship with the God that made you!

Psalm l06:34-38
34  They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:
35  But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.
36  And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.
37  Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,
38  And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.

When you go to the modern day medical profession and take your children to them, you destroy their faith in God as well. By your example, you are teaching them to trust a false god that cannot heal them.
Satan's system of idolatry required parents to give their children as a blood sacrifice. Satan has used men like Hippocrates to adapt his system for modern times. Today Satan is very happy to let faithless parents teach their children to serve him through his "modern" system of idolatry. What is the difference?

I Corinthians l0:20-21
20  But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.
21  Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

Every time people go to a doctor, they practice idolatry because they trust a man to do something that only God can do. We are to give ourselves as a living sacrifice to God on a daily basis. Remember that God is a jealous God.

The modern medical profession is rooted in PAGANISM.  An idolatrous person is guilty of worshipping a false god in a pagan religion.

Which God do you serve?
