Should You Ever Go To A Doctor?
Part 1
Sickness and disease is everywhere. Chances are, you know several people with a debilitating disease or a sickness. Millions of people are plagued with headaches, colds, flu, pneumonia, fever, mental illness, heart disease, stroke, emphysema, high blood pressure, cataracts, vertigo, arthritis, etc. The list of maladies people suffer from is virtually endless!
Usually people never question going to the doctor. They feel safe knowing that when they get sick, the medical profession is in place to take care of them. It is a way of life for most people.
Why is a trip to the doctor so accepted? Why does nearly everyone in America rely so heavily on the medical profession? Is the medical profession the answer?
Could everyone be wrong?
This question has to be asked in today's environment, when practically every evening news program touts the latest medical marvels in the health industry. Even the commercials, which are laden with Eastern philosophy, proclaim that the newest drug/pill is designed to help you, with side effects of course, become the person you desire to be.
At the time of Moses, the pagan nation of Egypt held Israel in slavery. God had promised to make Abraham's descendants as many as the stars of heaven (Genesis 15). In keeping covenant with Abraham, God brought Israel out of Egypt in their 4th generation, or 400 years later. God then revealed to the Israelites His laws and the great blessings for obedience along with the terrible curses for disobedience.
God also revealed to the Israelites who He is. One of God's names is, "Yahweh Rapha" or, "the God that heals us." In Exodus 15:26, God says…. If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
What could be better than that? Your obedience is tied directly to your healing! If you are obedient, God doesn't let you get sick! Sickness and disease are indicators of where you stand with God.
You need to understand that God said those words in Exodus 15:26. It is God that believes this way. Do you? Are you willing to view your relationship to God in this light? A simple look at the facts could indicate that you do not have the relationship with God that you think you have.
Consider Malachi 3:6, For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. The Great God of Heaven has not changed! He has always commanded His people to obey Him! He has always required obedience to His laws.
Israel rejected God and wanted a human king. Men do not like to have to deal with God, or trust in God, or wait on God. So it should come as no surprise that His people today have rejected God as their healer and choose instead to depend on a man.
Many times in the Bible we see that God allows Satan and his demons to plague all those that reject Him and live contrary to His holy law! The result is sickness and disease. We must realize that ONLY GOD CAN MAKE US WELL! He is our Healer.
Of course, good eating habits and exercise profit also. But most people do not eat correctly, thereby causing sickness because they are breaking the physical laws that govern health. The medical profession doesn't teach nutrition and only treats the effect of disease, not the cause of the disease. They dispense pills by the millions, but there is no cure in any of it.
So, WHY does the medical profession exist? Should you EVER use it?
Could you be guilty of trusting a doctor instead of God? When you get sick, whom do you turn to? Isn't it idolatry to trust in something other than God? If, through this series of articles you see that you have been wrong, will you repent and turn to God instead of man for healing?

If you really want the truth, this five part series will help you see the manner that God requires His people to trust Him. We can also, if we are willing, come to an understanding of why this society worships Satan and how the people of God follow in that worship by lacking the simple, true, pure faith in God to heal them.
